About this event

Pathway To Play: Development – Dinks, Drives & Third Shots

Duration: 60 minutes

Skill Level: Recreational

Punch Pass Eligible: Yes

Description:

The Pathway To Play: Development – Dinks, Drives & Third Shots class introduces recreational players to point construction and smart shot selection; a critical step in transitioning from simply hitting the ball to playing pickleball with purpose.

Players will learn how to control points using soft shots at the kitchen, apply pressure with well-placed drives, and make confident decisions on the third shot. Emphasis is placed on understanding when to play a soft shot versus when to be aggressive, helping players reduce unforced errors and improve consistency in live play.

Through structured drills and guided live-ball scenarios, coaches provide real-time feedback to reinforce good habits and strategic decision-making that translate directly to match play and open play.

What to Expect:

Dinking fundamentals, control, and common patterns

Drive mechanics, placement, and controlled aggression

Third-shot decision-making: drop vs. drive

Reset basics for neutralizing pressure

Shot selection awareness and point-building strategy

This class is ideal for players who want to move beyond reactive play and begin controlling rallies with smarter decisions, improved consistency, and greater confidence at the kitchen line.
