Beginner-Novice Social Play

About this event

Beginner-Novice Social Play (1.0-2.5)

New to pickleball, or still finding your feet? Join a warm, relaxed social session made for beginner and novice players, where learning, laughs, and new friendships come first.

Who it’s for:

Brand-new players and novices who are still learning the basics. No experience, partner, or sign-up as a team is required. If you’ve never held a paddle, or you’ve played a handful of times and want more practice in a friendly setting, this is the place for you.

What to expect:

Casual, low-pressure doubles at a comfortable, easygoing pace

A patient, encouraging atmosphere where mistakes are part of the fun

Friendly volunteers and experienced players on hand to answer questions and offer tips

Time to practice serving, returning, scoring, and the kitchen (non-volley zone) rule in real games

Frequent rotation so everyone gets plenty of court time and meets new people

Format:

Players rotate in and out of games so everyone gets a chance to play and socialize. Games are typically played to 11, win by 2, though the pace and format are flexible. Organizers will gladly walk you through the rules, scoring, and how the rotation works, so there’s no need to feel nervous about learning as you go.

Etiquette and expectations:

Be kind, patient, and encouraging to everyone

Call lines honestly and respectfully

Ask questions anytime, because everyone here is happy to help

Keep the focus on learning and having fun rather than winning

Offer advice only when asked

What to bring:

Your paddle…
