High School Pickleball- Grades 9-12

About this event

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, and it’s not just backyard games anymore. There are tournaments, player ratings, college club teams, and pros playing on TV in front of real crowds. Meanwhile, you’re over here not even knowing where the kitchen is. Let’s fix that. In six weeks, you’ll go from “Wait, which line do I stand behind?” to playing like you’ve got sponsors. No experience required. Ego checked at the door. (You can pick it back up in Week 6.)

Week 1: Pickleball 101 (The Only Class Where “I Didn’t Read the Rules” Is Fine)

Serves, returns, rules, and scoring, plus why part of the court is called the “kitchen” (spoiler: nobody knows, and asking makes adults visibly uncomfortable). By the end, you’ll know the rules better than every dad who’s ever yelled “THAT WAS IN!” with zero evidence. Tournament players call their own lines too, so you’ll learn to do it honestly. Mostly.

Week 2: What’s Your Pickleball Personality?

Are you a Banger who hits every ball like it owes you money? Or a Grinder who will dink for 20 minutes straight just to watch your opponent’s soul leave their body? Every top player has a style. Find yours, then learn when to attack and when to exercise self-control. Your teachers will be shocked to hear you have any.

Week 3: Third Shot Options

Drop, drive, or lob: three choices, one shot, zero pressure (lots of pressure). The pros agonize over this decision. You’ll learn to make it in half a second. Pick right and you look like a genius.
