About this event

Big Dill Pickleball Academy: Grades 3-5

Calling all 3rd through 5th graders! Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, which means your grandma might be better than you right now. Let’s fix that! In six weeks, you’ll go from “Wait, which line do I stand behind?” to pulling off trick shots so cool your friends will yell “DO IT AGAIN!” No experience needed. Silly dance moves encouraged.

Week 1: Pickleball 101 (No Homework, We Promise!)

Learn to serve, return, and keep score, plus find out why part of the court is called the “kitchen” even though there are no snacks in it. (We were disappointed too.)

Week 2: What’s Your Pickleball Personality?

Are you a Banger who hits the ball super hard, like a rocket? Or a Sneaky Ninja who stays calm and waits for the perfect moment? Discover your style and learn when to attack and when to chill.

Week 3: Third Shot Options

Your third shot is like picking a power-up in a video game: drop it, drive it, or lob it over their heads! Learn which one to choose so you can level up your game.

Week 4: Kitchen Domination

The Kitchen is the most important spot on the court, and you’ll learn to rule it! Practice soft little “dinks” that drive the other team bananas, then pounce when they hit one too high. (Spoiler: they will!)

Week 5: Surviving the Danger Zone

The middle of the court is where things get WILD. Learn the “reset,” the everybody-calm-down shot, plus swinging volleys that keep the other team on their toes.

Week 6: Trick Shot Week + Game Day!
