STINGRAY (DUPR 2.75-3.25)

A Stingray player has solid fundamentals and growing consistency. They can rally with basic strokes, serve and return reliably, and understand court positioning. Dinks, drops, and volleys are developing, but may lack precision. In doubles, they communicate well and are learning to move as a team. Focus areas include improving control, footwork, & net play.

🔁 OPEN PLAY ROTATION 🔁

To begin: Find an open court and partner up! If all the courts are taken, add your paddle to the first available slot to the right of any slotted paddles on the NextUp paddle rack. If you're the first player to wait, place your paddle at the leftmost slot. Follow the court rotation system described below.

Court Rotation

When six or more players are waiting, the cycle is “four on, four off,” with all players exiting after the game.

The most important rule is: do not move paddles once they are slotted — only move the NextUp marker.

When a game ends, all four players come off the court. Players put their paddles on the left side of the rack, starting with the next available slot to the right of any existing paddles. If there are no slots to the right, wrap around to the left side (like a typewriter return).

When a court becomes available, you'll draw the next four paddles from the rack. Start with the location of the NextUp marker. Take the four paddles at that location.

Slide the NextUp marker to the right to indicate the next paddles to be selected.
