EHPC - Level Challenges

About this event

EHPC Challenge Matches

Thursdays · 4:00–6:00 PM

Your number is a starting line, not a ceiling. Challenge Matches are how you move it.

For two hours on Thursday the courts belong to anyone who wants to play up. You find a player at a higher E.H. number, you ask, and you play. That is the entry requirement — you have to be willing to ask.

Two things make this safe to try.

Nobody ever moves down. Not after a loss, not after a rough night, not ever. This system only moves one direction. Losing to a 6 costs you nothing but the two hours, and you will learn more in those two hours than in a month of comfortable games.

Your DUPR is never touched. Challenge Matches are not reported anywhere. No rating service, no permanent record, nothing that follows you to another club. This is strictly our One-to-Nine scale — the number we use to get you onto the right court with the right people, and nothing more than that.

So the worst thing that can happen is a hard, fun match against somebody better than you. The best thing that can happen is a new number.

Show Up · Connect · Take Care of Each Other
