Poutine Invitational

About this event

Most tournaments hand you a medal. A medal does not feed you. This one ends with a champion carrying ten pounds of poutine out to the parking lot in a bucket while everyone else watches.

Hand cut fries, curds that actually squeak, dark peppery gravy, all in a quantity the kitchen described as "unwise." The bucket has a handle. You will need it.

Format: teams of two, four skill brackets, three games to eleven in pool play, then single elimination. Bracket winners meet in the Gravy Final, one game to fifteen on center court.

Notes: no food on the courts, which we mention only because of last year. The bucket is awarded whole and is not divided by staff. Second place gets a gift certificate and the memory of being close.

$25 dollars per team. Includes a shirt, a raffle entry, and a small cup of poutine that is not the prize and will not satisfy you.

Bring a partner. Bring napkins.
