Open Play

About this event

Beginner Open Play (Under DUPR 3.25 Recommended)

This event is designed for beginner-level players , generally those with a DUPR below 3.25 or anyone still learning the game. DUPR is not required to join. Beginner Open Play is a fun, welcoming environment for newer players to practice, gain experience, and enjoy games with others at a similar level.

How it works:

Games are played to 11 points, win by 2 .

We use a paddle stacking system with 4 bins (numbered 1–4) to organize play fairly.

Players place their paddles in the bins to indicate they are “next up.”

When a court opens, the next 4 paddles are pulled, and those players go in.

Rotation Rules:

If 4 new players are waiting , all 4 players who just finished must leave the court so the next group can rotate in.

If there are only 2 paddles waiting , the winners stay on the court for another game while the losing team rotates out.

Players should stack paddles in order and respect the rotation system to keep play moving smoothly.

Additional Notes:

Beginner Open Play follows the same structure as Intermediate and Advanced, but is more relaxed and learning-focused .

A great place for players who are new to pickleball or not yet ready for higher-competition divisions.

Staff may assist with paddle stacking, court assignments, or answering rules questions.

Please be patient and encouraging — the goal is to make this a positive and fun experience for all players.
